Santa Anita's GU16 Blue team won Flight 2 of the Orange
County Kickoff Tournament. They played 3 strong opponents in pool
play winning their pool by one point with a 1-1-1 record. The
championship game was versus GU16 Beach Black (which won their pool
with a 3-0 record). An early goal in the championship game gave
Santa Anita a quick lead but Beach countered before the half. Much
of the game was 1-1 until a late minute scrum in front of Beach's
goal when Santa Anita was able to punch in a goal for a 2-1 win. It
was a great weekend of competition and the girls had a great time.
